Do blackheads still worry you? Home remedies to cure Blackheads

Blackheads  are small bumps on the surface of the skin that are caused essentially due to clogged hair follicles. Dermatologists allude these following general causes to blackheads ( Know them before you treat them !)

  • Oily skin
  • Hormonal Changes either during the adolescent years or other cases such as while taking birth pills etc.
  • When hair follicles aren’t able to shed due to improper shedding of dead skin cells
Building up of certain bacteria on the skin (propionibacterium acnes, if you prefer to specificity).

It is impossible to rush for professional help with every few blackheads that pop up. Honestly, why should you when there are scores of treatments available at your place. Read on!

1. Baking Soda

This ingredient in the kitchen is known to do wonders while treating blackheads.
Add water to the baking powder to make it into a paste. The consistency has to be such so that you could easily spread on your face. Apply the mixture in circular motions on the skin. Wash off with plain water. This acts as a great exfoliating mixture for your skin.

Take note of the fact not to overdo it since it can make your skin dry.

2. Water and steam

What better inexpensive item than water. Wash your face at least 4-5 times daily; especially every time you come home from outside to prevent accumulation of dust in the pores. This shall help your skin keep clean.

Steam is also one of the greatest ingredients to clear out dirt from your pores and prevent dead cells from accumulating near the pores and clogging. Moisturizer after.

3. Lemon

Lemon juice acts as a natural astringent and helps reducing pores on the skin( vital cause of blackheads, remember?)

However much, it makes the skin sensitive to the sun and lighten skin temporarily. Squeeze lemon juice in a bottle and apply it with the help of a cotton ball. Wash with warm water once done.

4. Egg whites

Egg white masks tighten the pores thus helping you prevent blackheads. They are also full of nutrients and provide deep nourishment to the skin.

Ideally you use a tissue dabbed in egg whites to create a mask. Apply a second layer over the tissue placed on your face( or elsewhere). Peel the tissue off and wash.
