Bathroom Cleaning Hacks to Make Life Easier
The time has come. You cannot escape it any longer. The dirty toilet, clogged drain and stained tiles are calling out for help.
The bathroom usually gets avoided or left for last when it comes to cleaning. And for good reason – it’s gross! Here are some easy and effective hacks that’ll make the bathroom the ‘number one’ place you start with when you clean your home.
The exhaust fan
Start by unscrewing the top cover of the bathroom exhaust fan and tossing it in the tub or the sink. Follow up with a few drops of dishwashing fluid and water to rinse out any grime. The fan can then be disassembled and cleaned with a microfiber cloth or by vacuuming.
The shower head
This is a classic trick: fill a Ziploc pouch or plastic bag with vinegar and fasten it around your shower head to get rid of any water residue buildup.
Toilet, tiles and bathtub
A mixture of baking soda and vinegar makes for a chemical-free sanitizer for your toilet and tiles. You only have to let it rest for around 15 minutes before rinsing it off. The bathtub can be cleaned with a baking soda and water paste.
Apply a coat of clear nail polish to the bottom of metal cans or bottles that tend to leave rust marks on your tiles or shelves. You can also just turn them upside down and store them resting on their top caps.
The mirror and faucet fixtures
Rub some shaving cream over your mirror and clean it off after some time to get rid of the stains on it and prevent it from fogging up during a bath. The same method will work to shine up any chrome faucets. A mixture of vinegar and water in equal parts can get the tough gunk off your steel tap fittings.
Nobody likes the sight or smell of a clogged drain – simply pour a mixture of baking soda and vinegar down it and wait for half an hour before washing it down with hot water.
Remember that people usually judge you based on your bathroom. So if yours reflects poorly on you – get a deep cleaning done first and then keep using these hacks now and then.
